Twitter mess: Kurz again chancellor... - Politics Abroad

Oops, he’s no longer chancellor…?

On the official Twitter account of former Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (35), a photo of the Austrian delegation to Brussels was tweeted on Thursday with the sentence: “My first visit as Federal Chancellor takes me to Brussels today.”

Bad moment…

Much later, the brief tweet was deleted, now it can only be seen on the official account of Kurz’s successor, Alexander Schalenberg (52, VP).

Because: Of course, it was Schalenberg who began his “first visit as federal chancellor” on Thursday.

Schalenberg took over as chancellor from Kurz on Monday, with Kurz resigning on Saturday over allegations of corruption and bribery.

In an exclusive BILD interview on Monday, Schellenberg said of his new position: “It came as a pretty surprising position.”

Apparently a bit surprising for Twitter…
