Siemens outsources LDA business – 7,000 employees affected

Munich NS Siemens-Group largely outsources business. More than 7000 employees are affected worldwide, about 2200 of them in Germany, Handelsblatt learned from corporate circles. Simultaneously, Siemens is also preparing for a potential partner search or sale of an entity called Large Drive Application (LDA).

The group originally confirmed the spin-off. “We have decided to bundle LDA activities across our companies,” a spokesperson said upon request. Siemens wants to give the business “extra freedom and entrepreneurial freedom to focus even better on its markets and customers”. I do not wish to comment on further speculation.

Siemens’ new boss Roland Bush is cleaning up the portfolio. In the industrial sectors, however, it was emphasized that it was not planning to turn the technology conglomerate into a pure IT company. “The combination of hardware and software is precisely Siemens’ strength.”
