Because space is scarce on European glaciers, quality speed units are scarce. Therefore, the giant slalom was trained mainly in the summer. The missing training kilometer at Copper Mountain (Colorado) must now be built so that everything is fit for the start at Lake Lewis on November 26th. A week later, the males would move to Beaver Creek, before speeding up the females again on December 3 to begin the new season in Lake Louise.
Guglielmo Bosca, Emanuele Buzzi, Mattia Casse, Matteo Marsaglia, Niccol Molteni, Pietro Zazzi, Christophe Innerhofer, Dominic Paris and Riccardo Tonetti were called up for a two-week training camp beginning on 6 November. The men’s team is accompanied by Lorenzo Galli, Patrick Stoudacker, Christian Corradino, Michael Gaffler and Raimund Planker.
