More than a year ago, basketball veteran Kobe Bryant and his daughter died in a helicopter crash. An investigation has now been established as to how this tragic accident may occur.

NTSB managing director Robert Sumwal said in a public hearing, pilot Ara Zobayan, who also died in the crash, was possibly “spatially disordered”. Shortly before the Sikorsky S-76 crashed in Calabas near Los Angeles, Zobyan communicated via radio that he was climbing. But the helicopter made a left turn and sank quickly. Sumavat says that it is specific for spatial disorientation.
