Twitter may be working on paid functions - is the subscription model coming?

Apparently, Twitter is working on a paid subscription service that should offer some interesting additional functions – for example, to retrieve a tweet that has already been sent.

Twitter It has long been one of the giants of social media, an essential part of everyday life for many Internet users. But even 15 years after the company was founded, Twitter does not have a good plan for how to actually make money from the platform.

In the past few weeks, it was already reported that the company was working on expanding its shopping functions or creating payment functions for professional content providers.

In fact, it has long been rumored that Twitter may offer some additional functions as part of the subscription model. App security researcher Jane Manchun Wong has now discovered what one of the membership models is called and what it should cost:

“Twitter Blue” is apparently the name of the new subscription, which will cost $ 2.99 per month.

Customers receive the “archive” function – the possibility to organize favorite tweets or create thematic collections. A return ceremony is also included. This allows the sent tweets to be retrieved for a short period of time.

How exactly this function is designed is not known. Gmail has offered something similar over the years – sending an email is automatically delayed for a certain period of time. During this time users have the option to cancel the sending. It is possible that Twitter is doing something similar here as well.

In addition, other functions can be added, and Wong also believes that there will be separate, tier membership models. Whether or not “Twitter Blue” is the cheapest, most expensive or moderate model from Wong’s explanation is unclear.
