Italy’s volleyball player Strugler will take on Venezuela in the final group game on Sunday. With a little help, even Azurri around Bolzano’s Simone Giannelli could turn out to be a group winner.

The Italy national team has so far registered three victories against Iran, Japan and Canada. Only the Azzurri had to face a clear 3–0 loss against Poland. If Canada wins against Poland on Sunday, the road to a group victory will be free for Giannelli & Co. But first one has to win against Venezuela. South Americans are considered underdogs, especially since they have yet to win a game.
It remains to be seen whether Simone Gianelli will make an appearance on Sunday morning (9.25 p.m.). Against Venezuela, both Bolzano and his team-mates Osmani Juantorena and Iván Zaytse could be spared. Should Italy really get a group win, the fourth in Group B will wait in the quarter-finals. Otherwise, the incoming opponent will be placed second and third in Group B.
