Paris with an ambitious action plan renaultCEO Luca de Meo pulled the ailing French carmaker out of crisis, said the 54-year-old in a recent presentation: “We are making very, very good progress.” The group is currently achieving “the fastest turnaround in recent automotive history”.
Renewal goals will be exceeded, and a re-orientation towards electromobility will be accelerated. By 2030, Renault wants to sell only electric cars in Europe – by now it should be only 90 percent.
Over-speeding is a response to a dire situation. With tighter electric plans, Renault is giving an indication that manufacturers from other brands have long made. The costly transition from combustion engine to electric drive should be as short as possible.
