When news reached him from Canada, Leipzig photographer Martin Neuhof at first couldn’t believe it: a photo of him was voted the best portrait photo of the year in an international contest organized by the portal “500px”. The sensitive photo is now being prepared for exhibitions in Toronto.
Leipzig.Leipzig photographer Martin Neuhof has been national until now, especially with his Photo series “Battle of hearts” Known. To this end, the 37-year-old is portraying people who have for years been committed to fighting racism, homosexuality and other forms of discrimination in the region. A portrait photo of Nehof in Toronto, Canada has now won a famous photo contest. So his work will soon be displayed in two of the city’s galleries.
“I was really surprised. The annual contest related to the 500px photo platform is very wide with participants from all over the world,” Neuhof told LVZ on Thursday. They originally submitted five photographs in several categories – including the now successful portrait photo and an autumn landscape portrait. The jury also praised it, even though it did not make it to the title in the case.
