A spokesman for the company based in Darmstadt said on Thursday that Alnatura Mise-Chips Natur and Alnatura Mise-Chips Paprika are affected by the best dates from August 9, 2022 to August 17, 2022. Goods have already been withdrawn from sale.

So-called tropane alkaloids were found in a sample of corn chip peppers. Tropane alkaloids are natural compounds found in some plants such as henbane, prickly apple and deadly nightshade. They can cause temporary health problems such as nausea, drowsiness, and headaches.
As a precaution, buyers of chips should no longer eat them and may return products with specified best-in-first dates to the respective markets, where they will receive a replacement. Other best-to-date products and other Alnatura products are not affected by the recall.
