Brixen – As of now, youth in Bressanone have a wide range of activities and initiatives to choose from. Three youth clubs, Youth Center Kaas, Youth Service Brixen and Centro Giovanni Connection, together with city councilor for youth Peter Nutter presented the summer project Hofburggarten – Spazio Giovanni – Open Air Youth Meeting.
Over the past few months, three youth clubs with much dedication and support from the municipality of Brixen have transformed the Hofburggarten into an attractive ‘living room’ for young people, a place where they can meet, play and live. can. On the one hand, it is a meeting place for young people in the classical sense (calsetto, ping-pong, board games, information brochures, etc.) and, on the other hand, something amazingly special. A volleyball field as well as slackline and skimboarding has been established. A number of events are also planned for teenagers and young adults, such as small concerts, open-air cinema and dance performances. A circus will also show its performances for three weeks.
“A wonderful project with a very balanced program that brings youth together, gives them space to let off steam, talk, have fun and support each other. “At the cash desk, we thought about how we can make summer meaningful for and with the youth. It was also not clear in the spring how the situation with Kovid would be. Last year we put our main activity outreach mobile youth hiring and saw young people occupying public spaces, but this was often not tolerated. So we got the idea to take our youth club outside,” say Sarah, Sophie and Patrick from Kaas Youth Center.
“The garden should be a retreat place for young people. They can spend their time together, exchange ideas and make use of the many leisure activities. Gabriel Magelli of Centro Giovanni Connection stressed, “We want to set new standards regarding cross-language collaboration and will do more in the future.” The Hofburggarten is open to youth from Thursday to Saturday, from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm, and there are also events and workshops during the week.
