Barcode scanners infect Android devices millions of times

A barcode scanner popular by number of downloads has infected Android devices with quite malicious advertisements.

There are a dozen barcode scanners in the Google Play Store for Android devices, but one candidate has received particularly negative attention. Barcode scanner from Lavabird Limited, unfortunately it is simply called. Several million Android devices can be infected with one update. Meanwhile, the Android app has also been removed from the Google Play Store.
