There’s another food recall in Germany. The reason for this is perplexing and even astonishing the producer.

The Nestle company is currently warning customers about counterfeiting of “Nescafe Gold” branded soluble coffee. The product is in a container which looks like the old variant of Nescafe Gold.

“It was not commercially available as a counterfeit product. The shape of the glass has also not been used for Nescafe Gold for years,” Nestle said in a statement on Friday (22 October).

Under no circumstances should counterfeit coffee be consumed as it is suspected that the product may contain broken glass and plastic. This poses a significant health risk to customers in Germany.

Affected customers should not exchange fake coffee, but call the police

Nestlé itself is more than shocked by the incident: “We are shocked by the criminal activity and deeply condemn the fact that our brand has been illegally counterfeited and marketed. The quality and safety of our products is our top priority. ,” the company announced on Friday.

Customers who have bought fake coffee and kept them at home are advised to inform the police immediately.
