Cop slugs woman in the face at Miami International Airport, video shows

An officer for the Miami-Dade Police Department was caught on digicam whilst sucker-punching a female in the facial area on Wednesday evening.

The assault unfolded at the Miami Worldwide Airport, when the girl and the cop started arguing, according to a movie of the incident filmmaker Billy Corben posted to Twitter.

It’s unclear what sparked the dispute, but the video clip starts as the lady ways up to and shouts at the officer.

“You’re black. You are performing like you’re white but you are definitely black,” the lady can be heard indicating to the officer — both of whom are black.

“What are you likely to do?” the woman provides.

The officer then cocks again his fist and punches the girl as bystanders gasp.

A next cop standing nearby then joins to aid the initially officer as they grab the girl and pin her down as they location her less than arrest.

The director of the police section, Alfredo Ramirez, introduced about 30 minutes immediately after the movie was posted that the department has launched an investigation into the officers’ conduct.

“I am shocked and angered by a overall body cam movie that I just observed involving one particular of our officers. I’ve instantly initiated an investigation and requested that the concerned officers be relieved of duty,” Ramirez claimed in a tweeted statement.

“Actions this sort of as these undermine the tough operate that we have invested in our local community and leads to my heart to split for our group and for the large vast majority of our officers who devote their lives to serving our County,” Ramirez went on.

The director explained he has also requested Condition Attorney Kathy Rundle to guide in the investigation into the concerned officers, who have not been identified.

“This will not stand, and I assure our local community that any officer performing in this vain will be held to account,” Ramirez stated.
