Duchess Meghan: Presidential ambitions? Napoleon, out of all the people, could have stopped it!

That Herzogin Meghan (40, born Meghan Markle), wife of Prince Harry (37), politically active, is no longer a secret. Meghan has long advocated for social and family policy in America. Among other things, she meets with senators and advocates who have paid parental leave. In doing so, it supports the reform package planned by US President Joe Biden, which seeks to change social and environmental legislation.

But that’s not all: British journalist and royal biographer Tom Bower thinks it’s likely Meghan will be aspiring for the presidency. He told British media that the Duchess’ candidacy in 2024 is “possible and I would even say likely”. US media believe that Meghan is currently networking in American politics to raise funds for the latter’s presidential candidacy. Meghan has yet to publicly confirm this intention.

Meghan has recently surprised everyone with her new look. You can clearly see the change in the video.

Amendment to the Constitution: No federal office with foreign title of nobility

Political ambitions within the British royal family are more likely to be accepted with a wrinkle in the nose. Because: The royals in Great Britain have traditionally stayed out of politics. Meghan’s political commitment is a novelty. Now, among all things, her membership of the British nobility could be fatal – and cost her her presidential candidacy.

As a Native American citizen, Meghan is basically entitled to stand as a candidate. But a 211-year-old amendment to the U.S. Constitution could thwart his plans: the constitutional amendment “Titles of the Nobility Amendment”—in German: “Amendment to the Edelsteiteln”—was drafted in 1810 and aimed at Napoleon’s return to the United States. Had to stop the nephew. comes to power. The resolution states that anyone who “accepts, claims, receives, or retains the title of nobility conferred by a foreign power” cannot hold a federal office in the United States.

Duchess Meghan’s dream could be shattered if application comes to the table

When Napoleon Bonaparte’s younger brother Jerome married American Elizabeth Patterson in 1803, it was speculated that his son would run for President of the United States. It was feared that America would thus join the French Empire. The constitutional amendment was proposed in Congress and presented to the parliaments of individual states. But: out of the 14 required parliaments, only twelve gave their assent.

The amendment never came into force, but it was not rejected either. If the document is retrieved, the twelve yes-votes already entered still apply. Then another 26 votes are missing to accept the amendment. If a constitutional amendment comes back on the table after 211 years, Duchess Meghan could be ousted from the presidency.
