MediaMarkt-Saturn Group recorded a hacker attack on an electronics store chain’s IT systems.
In response to a request from GamesWirtschaft, a spokeswoman for Ingolstadt-based MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group confirmed that the company has been the target of a cyberattack: “During the night of Sunday to Monday, a group carried out a cyber attack. All national subsidiaries of MediaMarktSaturn are affected.”
Internal and external experts are currently working with the responsible authorities to analyze and identify the responsible damage as quickly as possible. For investigative reasons, the company does not wish to provide any further information at this time.
There is no need for customers to take action. Two online shops MediaMarkt.de and Saturn.de are still fully functional.
