New Montreal Office Works on "Breakthrough Entertainment"

“The Borderlands” developer has opened another studio. The American video game company now has a location in Montreal, Canada.

Those responsible are investing a total of 200 million Canadian dollars in the new studio. In the future, “Groundbreaking Entertainment” is to be produced here. There are already “new, original ideas” for this. The Montreal team is said to be made up of “diverse and passionate” developers who work on entertainment products.

Gearbox now has two offices in Canada. In 2015, a studio was opened in Quebec City.

At the outset, the CEO of Gearbox Software said: “Gearbox Entertainment Company is ambitious both internationally and domestically to grow our creative engine and meet the incredible demand of our customers for the brightest experiences with our intellectual property.”

An important center of video game development

The Canadian metropolis is one of the most important centers for the development of video games. In addition to Gearbox, major publishers such as Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Square Enix and Bethesda Softworks all have a place here. Polish development company CD Projekt Red also opened an additional studio here last month.

Gearbox was bought by Embraer Group at the beginning of the year. Thanks to this acquisition, the company should be able to expand more rapidly in the future.

Gearbox Software is currently working on the loot shooter “Tiny Tina Wonderlands”, which takes place in the “Borderlands” universe and is scheduled to appear in early 2022. You can see some screenshots of this game in this article.
