Snapdragon 6: Qualcomm Chip Makes Cheap Smartphones Better

Qualcomm Is about to introduce a new range of mid-range SoCs. A well-known source has now presented the official data sheet for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, with which the US chip giant is looking to enable lucrative mid-range smartphones.

The new chip with the internal model number SM6450 has been in development for some time and is now apparently about to be introduced. data sheet, which is from ober-leaker Evan Blass Among other things, promises of a maximum clock rate of up to 2.2 GHz were issued. However, it remained unclear which core type is used in which cluster configuration.

Welcome improvements to cheap devices

The new chip has several upgrades over its direct predecessor, the Snapdragon 695, due to the fact that it’s basically the snapped Snapdragon 780G. Among other things, the new chip also supports LPDDR5X RAM in addition to LPDDR4 RAM, which can accommodate up to 12 gigabytes.
