Trump suggests delaying 2020 election over possible voter fraud

President Trump on Thursday recommended delaying the 2020 election, citing the likelihood of inaccurate tallies and popular fraud induced by a surge in mail-in votes.

“With Common Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is great), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in background,” the president mentioned in a tweet.

“It will be a fantastic embarrassment to the United states of america. Delay the Election till folks can appropriately, securely and safely vote???” Trump included.

The dates of federal elections are set by Congress, and the Constitution would make no provisions for a delay to the presidential inauguration on Jan. 20.

There has been no evidence however of common voter fraud by way of mail-in voting, even in states with all-mail votes.

“Mail-In Voting is previously proving to be a catastrophic catastrophe. Even testing parts are way off,” the commander-in-chief reported in an earlier tweet Thursday.

“The Dems speak of international affect in voting, but they know that Mail-In Voting is an easy way for overseas nations to enter the race. Even past that, there’s no exact rely!” he wrote.

The tweet comes as polls present the president trailing Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, in several crucial states.
