Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin made his first visit to Israel by a key member of President Joe Biden’s government, whose stance on Iran has alarmed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration.

The Israeli Prime Minister welcomed the withdrawal of former US President Donald Trump from the pact and again imposed sanctions on Tehran, which then renounced many of its obligations under the pact.

On Wednesday, Netanyahu said that Israel was not bound by an agreement that would allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons.
