Ski racer Andreas Sander finished in the top 15 at the World Cup in Lake Louise (Canada) and thus missed half of the World Cup criteria.

The 33-year-old from Ennepetal, who tackled the season’s first World Cup downhill race in No. 23, finished 31st on Saturday. He was 2.70 seconds behind the winner Alexander Amodt Kilde (Norway) in the end. The best German downhill skier in Lake Louise was Thomas Draysen from Mittenwald, who finished eighth on his return from injury and thus immediately broke the World Cup norm. The track got slower and slower as the cloud cover increased.

Sander is looking to forget as quickly as possible last season, which ended with only two top ten results and a podium for the 2021 vice world champion. The World Cup is to be held in France in mid-February.
