CALGARY (AP) – The German women’s national ice hockey team lost to the hosts in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Canada. Against Canada, the DEB selection was clearly lost 0:7 (0:3, 0:2, 0:2) in Calgary.
For a weak German team, it is now a matter of placement against Russia. “We really want to win this game to maintain our fifth place,” said striker Julia Zorn.
“I’m really proud of the team,” said coach Thomas Shadler. Vice-captain Anna Reich said: “We showed a big heart and put everything on the ice. Each of us played our best game.”
