Mass recall campaigns at Aldi, Lidl and Reeve: Due to potential contamination with salmonella, many popular spice blends are currently being recalled. Consumption of the products may also cause malaise, diarrhoea, vomiting or fever.
Spice maker Raimund Hoffmann GmbH is recalling several products. About 30 spice mixes are suspected to be contaminated with salmonella. The company recently published Message.
Bacteria were found in basil. It is used in many products. Although some of them contain only very small amounts, all spice blends containing basil are now being recalled. The products are sold not only in Germany but also in Austria, Belgium, Portugal and Italy.

Salmonella can cause malaise, diarrhea, vomiting and fever. Symptoms may be more pronounced in young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised and elderly people. If such symptoms do not subside within a few days, a doctor should be consulted.
