Road transport subsidiary: Siemens shares fall sharply: Siemens sells Unix for nearly one billion euros | news

As announced by DAX Group, The Italians acquired Unix Traffic from Siemens Mobility for EUR 950 million. Unix is a provider of intelligent road traffic solutions.

The Siemens Management Board and Supervisory Board approved the planned transaction after the Italians announced in early January that they had submitted a binding proposal. The deal is expected to close by September 2022. With the sale, Siemens intends to intensify its own portfolio to strengthen Siemens as a focused technology company. Siemens Mobility and Unix Traffic have shown that Siemens is able to further grow businesses and increase their value.

Along with Unix Traffic, the management team and 3,000 employees are also moving to Italians. The company is to be managed as an independent business entity. Unix Traffic will continue to be a global leader in adaptive traffic management, automation of freeways and tunnels, and intelligent solutions for traffic networking and toll collection systems. Unix Traffic recently achieved annual sales of over EUR 600 million.

In XETRA trading, Siemens shares eventually fell 2.33 percent to EUR 142.60.
