Washington (USA) – This departure apparently also came as a surprise to the German football professional! Julian Gressel (28) had to leave DC United as he is said to no longer fit the system of new coach Wayne Rooney (36).

The right midfielder has joined Vancouver Whitecaps FC for a fee of up to $900,000. The Canadian club plays in the US Major League Soccer like DC.
Gressel himself retweeted a post by Washington Post journalist Steven Goff announcing the move. The Neustadt native wrote: “Glad you found out two minutes after me…”
