In Mont-Sainte Anne, Canada, Olympic champion Jolanda Neff celebrates her first World Cup victory in cross-country this season.

In the second of five laps, the eastern Swiss broke through in the changing heavy rain and were torn away relentlessly. The second best Swiss is Alessandra Keller in 5th place.

In the end, Neff was almost a minute ahead of second-placed Austrian Mona Miterwallner. There are almost four years between his 12th and 13th World Cup victories. She last won at La Bresse in September 2018.

The mountain bike classic is Neff’s favorite race in the French Canadian province of Quebec. She has never lost on this route in the World Cup, she also won the short race on Friday. At the 2019 World Championships, she won the silver medal behind the missing Frenchwoman Pauline Ferrand-Prevot. This time too, he showed off his superb technical skills in an absolutely demanding course.

Sina Frey and Linda Indergand, who finished second and third at the Olympics in Tokyo, had to miss two overseas races in snowshoe last week and on Sunday in Canada for health reasons.

The men’s race starts at 8:50 p.m.
