The Spengler Cup is a great attraction not only for ice hockey fans, but also for the players themselves. The Bern selection team, which stands for Team Canada, can now participate. The team consists of one-third from EHC Beale, SCL Tigers and SC Bern. The Swiss team is led by EHC Biel player Beate Forster. He is really looking forward to the tournament. “It’s always been a dream for me to play in the Spengler Cup,” says Forster. “The atmosphere is great, and the Spengler Cup has a long tradition for Swiss hockey.”

The former longtime HC Davos player is used to home games in the Spengler Cup, but not guest appearances. “As an HCD player, expectations are high,” Forster says. “As a guest player you have lower expectations and you can enjoy the game more.” Still, he wanted to do his best and play good hockey. The Spengler Cup starts this Sunday and ends on Friday.
