Spice Girls project into original line-up

The Spice Girls have already made a musical comeback — but without Posh Spice. Victoria Beckham is now uniting girl groups for a project against homelessness in the LGBTQ+ community.

Victoria Beckham and the Spice Girls are doing something together again — and for a good reason. The fashion designer has teamed up with former band members Geri Halliwell, Melanie B, Melanie C and Emma Bunton for a Pride campaign. The girl band proudly presented the result on Instagram.

Each Spice Girl posted a photo of herself in a Victoria Beckham-designed T-shirt on the band’s official account. Rainbow lettering reads “Proud and Wannabe Your Lover” (in German: “Proud and Will to Be Your Lover”). The slogan is intended to be a nod to the Spice Girls’ world hit “Wannabe”, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

Victoria Beckham is currently selling a shirt and a bag with the same label in her webshop. All proceeds will go to the British organization “ACT”, which campaigns against homelessness in the LGBTQ+ community. But it’s not just the Spice Girls promoting exclusive shirts. Victoria Beckham also immediately hired her entire family to promote the shirt. On her Instagram account, she published photos with her children Harper, Cruz, Romeo and Brooklyn, as well as her husband David Beckham with shirts.

Most recently, the successful 1990s girl band returned in 2019 as a tour through Great Britain and Ireland – but without Beckham. The designer also clarified that she will not be a part of any tour originally planned for 2021. It is not known whether Beckham will be part of potential anniversary projects for the band’s 25th anniversary this year.
