The controversial Winter World Cup has cast a shadow over Qatar. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti will be watching the action from one team in particular.

Carlo Ancelotti will follow the World Cup in Qatar due to the number of players taking part in the upcoming major football competition. The coach of Real Madrid is also keeping a close watch on Team Canada. Why Canada?

“I will support Canada in the World Cup. They have been missing for many years and this is my second home,” Ancelotti told Italian radio Rai. He has a special relationship because of his Canadian wife, Marianne Barrena McClay.

There is also an Italian president in the football association Victor Montagliani. “They qualified well and they have great players. I’ll be there with the Canadian shirt,” Ancelotti said.

Canada has qualified for the final tournament for the first time in 36 years. The most famous player is FC Bayern’s Alfonso Davies, who missed the last few games due to myocarditis caused by a coronavirus infection. The 21-year-old wants to join Qatar again.
