It’s already a tradition: the musician also announced the birth of his first daughter, Lyra Antarctica, in August 2020 with such a photo. “We are both very much in love with her and are very happy to be in a family of four,” the new post continues.
This news is surprising, because only the closest members of the family knew about the pregnancy. A spokesperson has since confirmed to Britain’s The Sun: “They are so excited that Lyra has a younger sister and the four are enjoying some precious family time before Ed heads back on tour.” They hope that their privacy will be respected during this special time. Sheeran has yet to reveal the name of the second daughter.

Ed Sheeran said last year that family planning isn’t over yet. He would be “extremely grateful” if more kids were added, the singer explained — and at the time he was clearly already thinking of more daughters: “Girls are far better than boys. As a boy, I Guess I can say that, the 31-year-old said on the “Open House Party” podcast. He was “so happy” to have a baby, “and I think I’ll love more.”
