Hamburg HafenCity: Luxury Brands Heading to the Überseequartier

Überseequartier is the mega construction project in HafenCity. Now it’s been announced: two more luxury brands will be coming.

Fashion label “GANT” will open a 180 m² store in the Überseequartier. There’s a new concept to be used here that “combines high-quality materials, playful colors and functionality with a modern twist on mid-century design,” according to a statement.

The luxury brand “Hugo Boss” will also move to the Überseequartier. The shop will be on the ground floor. It was previously known that the “Brenninger” label would also open a store in the construction project.

“We are very pleased to be able to announce a partnership with these well-known and sought-after brands,” says Konstantin Weissmann, Director of Leasing Austria and Germany at Unibel-Rodamco-Westfield. The company is responsible for the development of the project.

The mega-project will comprise a total of 14 buildings. In addition to various shops, space is to be built here for restaurants, apartments, offices, hotels and a cruise terminal – on 419,000 square metres. The Überseequartier is due for completion in 2024. The project has drawn criticism from local residents – the cost is over a billion euros. (Alu)
