Hardly anyone does this: a simple trick clears your smartphone's memory

Smartphones are coming with great memories these days – up to 512 GB are expensive flagship models. But anyone who owns a cheap cell phone and has not inserted a memory card will reach the limit of storage capacity in 2021 as well. There are simple ways to free up extra memory – the simplest is probably the cache.

But many users do not seem familiar with this simple option. Indeed, a recent survey by the American Technology Portal showed Android Authority: About half of the respondents have not used this option to free up phone memory. We will show you how to clear the cache of your apps with just a few clicks and what is behind this word.

Empty the cache: this is so easy

There are different options for clearing the cache of apps.

Basically, caching is a useful technique – apps use it to store data in the background, often accessed by websites. This means that this data will not have to be re-downloaded every time. However, large amounts of data accumulate on smartphones over time. Social media browser apps such as Chrome or Opera are particularly affected and often have a cache of several GB in size. If you remove them from time to time, there is a lot of free storage space.

To clear the cache of an app, go to its notification page in Settings. There you will get an entry showing how much storage space the app is using. Click on it. Then you will see how big the cache is and you can clear it with one click.

If this is too cumbersome for you, you can also use a one-click solution. Many Android manufacturers provide a customizable app for their devices, and often have a cache cleaner. Use this to clear the cache of all installed apps.

Alternatively, you can use a third-party application solution. One of the most popular cleaner apps is SD Made – the free Android app without ads and comes with various practical features. You can use it to track and delete unused system files or use Paid App Cleaner to check each individual app for unused files.
