The battery charge percentage is always displayed in the status bar on the following devices:*

* If you don’t see Battery percentage, go to Settings > Battery and turn on Battery percentage. if you power saving mode Battery charge percentage is always displayed in the status bar.

As per the report, the battery percentage indicator for iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini will not return to the status bar.

It is not known why these exceptions exist. But there is an option for all users who are on iOS 16 Switching on but don’t own any devices that support the battery indicator in the status bar. You can simply use the battery widget and see the percentage of battery charge there.
