Next Year's Farewell Tour: Band "Fats Brot" Announces Dissolution

A few days ago the band Fats Brot gave a surprise free concert on the Elbe – now three musicians Doc Renz (Martin Vandreier), König Boris (Boris Lauterbach) and Björn Betten (Björn Warnes) have surprisingly announced their separation.

The band said on their social media channels, “We like eternal teens with “about 50” digging their own graves before we can soon inaugurate our own wax mannequins at Madame T.

“You read that right: Group Fats Brot is not only ancient … but history! Dad and Dad and Dad break up. At the end of ’23’ we’ll pack up our gym bags and start hiking the new paths, ” let’s Going On.

The band presented hits such as “Gene”, “Emmanuela”, “Schwule Mdchen” or “On Days Like This” with “Bröt Wein’t Nich” with the right lyrics and perfect video:

“Guys, we have to tell you something: Thick bread, let’s go with it,” raps Doctor Renz and continues: “But you won’t see any tears, nothing like this can happen to us. Because bread doesn’t cry Is.”

and a desire to see each other again on a big farewell tour in spring 2023: “But of course: it’s an honor to end our era together with a banging finale” – the band called “Greatest Hits”. Album also announced.

Fatty Bread Always Ready to Surprise

And a few surprises, like last Friday’s Hamburg Harbor concert safari. The trio previously rapped on the roof of a port barge facing the beach in Hamburg-Avelgon and backed by a DJ.

Although the ship was about 100 meters on the water and the sounds did not reach the shore in full force, fans reacted with enthusiasm. More than 500 people danced and applauded on the beach. The band played their hits “Emmanuela” and “Nordisk by Nature”. Then we went to Landungsbrücken and Hafencity.

With “Gene” and “Nordic by Nature” three boys from Halstenbeck, Schenfeld and Pinneberg celebrate their success in front of the Hanseatic city gates. The three rappers split the lines within the verses.

In 2005 “Emmanuela” Fats Brot took second place in the Bundesvision Song Contest, the single later climbing to number 3 in the German singles chart and rapping so high even at number 1 in Austria, the album was overall more soul-heavy. The band also made political statements with songs such as the predecessors, “N Days Like This”.

The band released their last studio album “LoveStory” in the spring of 2019. Dr. Renz, König Boris and Björn Betten shed light on the different aspects of love. “During production, we just saw that the strongest songs were about love,” Martin Vandryer said in a DPA interview.

Musically, “Lovestory” is associated with the sound of the earlier albums – with slightly less hip-hop and more funk and disco. A tour scheduled for 2020 and 2021 had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. (dpa)
