Olympia: First medal for Germany!  High successful diver and archer

Germany won its first medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Lee Hentschel and Tina Punzel won the bronze medal in high diving from the three-meter board.

Tokyo – Olympia 2021* has now started for Germany as well! Water jumpers Lena Henschel and Tina Punzel won the first medal for the German team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The European champion on Sunday won a bronze medal in synchronized jumping from a three-meter board.

The European champion took the bronze medal with a score of 284.97 in the synchronized competition from the 3m board. The victory went to the favorites Wang Han/Shi Tingmao (326.40), who gave China their fifth consecutive gold in this discipline. Silver went to Melissa Citrini Beaulieu / Jennifer Abel (Canada / 300.78).

This is the first Olympic medal for the German Swimming Association (DSV) in this competition since 2008, when Diet Kotzian and Heike Fischer also won bronze in Beijing.

The next German medal came shortly afterwards! The German archers surrounding Lisa Unruh won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Unruh (Berlin), Michel Kropen (Jena) and Charlene Schwarz (Feuch) won a third-place 5:1 duel against Belarus in the team competition on Sunday, thus winning the second German medal in Japan.
