Moderna has states pay for new works
The government is in talks with the vaccine maker to build new facilities and direct delivery of cans. Canada wants to invest first. Switzerland fits.

Moderna is in talks with governments around the world about new vaccine facilities that will give individual states direct access to rapid supplies. Canada became the first country to sign a letter of intent signed on Tuesday. Other states have to follow as per Moderna. “We believe this innovative business model will have global impact and consequences,” Moderna boss Stefan Bunsell said in the press release.
Moderna’s new business model looks like this: Canada is to be given the right to directly purchase a certain number of vaccine doses and thus be the first. For this, the government should contribute to the investment cost for the new plant in its own country, according to Moderna. According to the Government of Canada, these are several hundred million Canadian dollars. Details of the proposed agreements were not disclosed at the Canada and Modern Media conference in Montreal – and should only be made public unofficially, if at all. Agreements on the delivery of the COVID vaccine are considered top secret.
