Property lawmakers have launched an investigation into the Office of Homeland Security’s determination to block New York from Trusted Travelers packages, The Hill noted Saturday.
The DHS declared Thursday that it would restore New York to the well known packages, which expedite vacationers as a result of protection checkpoints at airports.
But the lawmakers said the agency had unfairly specific and misled the point out when it barred New York from collaborating previously this year — in retaliation more than the state’s “Green Light” law, which will allow undocumented immigrants to acquire driver’s licenses.
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Mo.), chairman of the Homeland Safety Committee, and Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) mentioned in asserting the probe that it appears DHS officials “made bogus statements” in trying to justify the previously final decision to bar the condition from the software.
