Pitbulls kill their owners’ babies
Dogs were part of the family like children. But suddenly the bulls from the pits attacked the little ones.
Millington (US state Tennessee) – Two children in the United States have been bitten by their family dogs. The mother of the seriously injured children was taken to the hospital.
Christy Jane Benard (30) tried for ten minutes to drag her five-month-old son Holles Dean and her two-year-old daughter Lily Jane away from a pit bull – without success. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter that both children were pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency services were called to the home at about 3:30 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday in Millington, a suburb of Memphis, Tennessee, according to the sheriff’s office. It is not known whether Christie’s husband and father of the children, Colby Benard, were at home at the time of the attack. Holles and Lily were the couple’s only children.
“She hasn’t stopped trying to save her little ones,” Jeff Gibson, a family member, wrote on Facebook. He wrote, the condition of the mother is stable, but there are many bite marks all over her body including her face. His hands and feet were completely bound. According to Gibson, his injuries “will leave no permanent damage, except for a heart that will never heal.”
Two pit bulls Cheech and Mia have been part of the family for more than eight years and have never been noticed by aggressive behavior, said Kelsey Canfield, a friend of the mother, for “Fox News Digital.” Till Wednesday.
It is still unclear why the pit bull suddenly attacked the children and how the attack happened. The investigation continues. The post mortem of the children is yet to be done. The dogs have been handed over to the authorities and are likely to be euthanized.
