What can the Google Pixel Watch and Pixel 7 do

On October 6, Google introduced two new models of its Pixel smartphone and its first smartwatch. The devices should be available early next week.

Tech giant Google unveiled a number of promising new devices on October 6 under “Made by Google ’22” – including the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro as well as the Google Pixel Watch. That’s what the two smartphones and the smartwatch have to offer.

High tech in elegant design

Firstly, the Google Pixel 7 is more compact than its predecessor. The smartphone with its elegant design is available in Snow, Lemongrass and Obsidian colours. It has a 6.3-inch FHD+ display, but it weighs just 197 grams. The Pixel 7 Pro is a bit heavy at 212 grams, but it also has a 6.7-inch QHD+ display – and this Android flagship is the same as its smaller sibling Snow, Obsidian and Hazel are available.

According to the manufacturer, the batteries on both devices (approximately 4,355 mAh for the Pixel 7 / around 5,000 mAh for the Pixel 7 Pro) should last more than 24 hours with conventional use and up to 72 hours with the energy-saving mode on. A quick charge function also charges devices up quickly.

The smartphones are equipped with Google Tensor G2 processor and Titan M2 security chip as well as eight gigabytes (Pixel 7) or twelve gigabytes (Pixel 7 Pro) of RAM. Apart from the Titan M2 chip, a VPN offer should also ensure security, among other things. During the year, users will get a free VPN from Google One.

choose emoji by voice

Also exciting is “Voice Input with Assistant”, which now automatically suggests emoji when composing messages. Also in 2022, the “Crystal Clear Calls” function should ensure better call quality. Meanwhile, 5G support ensures fast download of apps or reliable streaming of content.

The Pixel 7 packs a 10.8-megapixel front camera, a 50MP wide-angle camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, while the Pixel 7 Pro packs a 50MP wide-angle and 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens on the back . – Also added a 48MP telephoto camera. The new functions should ensure even better photos – including a sharpener from Google Photos that aims to remove noise and blurring from images and will initially be available for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Both the smartphones can be pre-ordered now. The devices will be available from October 13 and will cost from €649 (Pixel 7) or €899 (Pixel 7 Pro).

A smartwatch for every situation

The Google Pixel Watch, meanwhile, is the tech giant’s first smartwatch and is designed for all walks of life. So smart watch can be a faithful companion not only in everyday life at work or during sports, but also for outdoor activities, for example. The battery should last for 24 hours.

The Pixel Watch has an AMOLED display with a diameter of 41 millimeters in a stainless steel case and comes in four versions – in Champagne Gold with Hazel Sport Strap, in Matte Black with Obsidian Sport Strap and in Polished Silver with Sport Strap Charcoal or Charcoal Chalk. Apart from this, other bracelets are available in various designs.

Fitness is especially important, which is why the experts at Fitbit have teamed up with Google. For example, users can monitor their heart rate or their sleep. A six-month Fitbit Premium subscription is also included with the purchase. Among other things, special workouts should be accessible through it.

There are basically two variants of the Google Pixel Watch. With the more expensive 4G/LTE option at 429 euros, users don’t even need to carry their smartphone with them. With a Bluetooth/WLAN option of 379 euros, the mobile phone must be close to the smartwatch or it must be connected to the WLAN. Both the devices can already be pre-ordered and will then be available from October 13.
