An English woman has imposed a compensation of lakhs on her mother’s family doctor. The woman herself says that she should not have been born – because she suffers from limitations.

The 20-year-old suffered from a disability as she was born with an open back. The bones along the spinal cord did not develop properly, which is why the girl was limited in her physical movement and had to be constantly connected to a medical tube over a few days.

According to the report, the reason for this was the lack of folic acid in his mother during pregnancy. The 20-year-old blames her mother’s family doctor for her birth defect, as he should not have advised her properly. Her mother said that the doctor did not recommend her to take folic acid supplements. If she had been told of the risks, she would have waited to conceive.

Doctor protests his innocence

The Daily Mail reported that the 20-year-old argued that she should never have been born like this. According to the report, the doctor contested his innocence in court and said that he had properly advised the woman. However, the mother is said to have said that she considered taking folic acid supplements unnecessary.

Judge of the Royal High Court London Now given 20 years. So the doctor will have to pay a compensation of lakhs to him for careless advice. It is not yet clear how much was paid. However, lawyers calculated with a “large” amount, as the money would have to cover the cost of lifelong care for 20-year-olds.
