St. John’s , Prince Charles (73) and Duchess Camilla (74) try beer with water from thousands of years old icebergs at the end of their first day in Canada.
The royal couple pour themselves a pint in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on Tuesday (local time). “Very good,” praising Camilla as he tasted it. The water for the specialty beer comes from icebergs that flow into the eastern Canadian province each year.
Brewery co-owner Justin Fong was delighted with the famous guests. “He gave us all the best memories of our time here,” Fong said. “We have been planning the trip for two months and it went smoothly, so we are very satisfied.”
The British heir to the throne and mother of the future Queen Charles is traveling in the Commonwealth of Nations on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II. The visit is in honor of the Queen’s 70th birth anniversary as Canadian Head of State.
