- Google brings back the main menu of old apps.
- Soon in Google Photos too.
Over the past two years, Google has made a strong effort to ensure that the so-called hamburger menu at least disappears from its Android apps. The former main menu is opened by a gesture, which in turn gets in the way of today’s system operation via swipe gestures. So you looked for an alternative and found it – the profile picture in the top right corner of the apps. But now the hamburger menu is visible again.
Google Photos Coming Soon With The Return Of The Hamburger Menu?
Google put it in Gmail more recently in messages Introduced in the first place. It didn’t take long for the first users in Google Photos to be able to find this menu again, surprisingly. A trial is currently underway. The menu is not usable yet, even though it was already visible to earlier users. Apparently Google is working on a comeback for us in present Good reasons are not yet known.
It’s especially awkward with this app, as the old main menu was only deprecated two years ago. And the app has worked well since then, in my opinion it doesn’t require the classic main menu. Differently from what you might see on Google, I don’t think the search was a mistake. Now is the time to wait.
