The revised collection will be realized by the developer (Philip Victor), who was already responsible for the “Half-Life 2 Update” revision, which was based on Steam Given. Although the collection is not officially from Valve Software, the remastered collection appears to have been created with Valve approval, as confirmed by (mostly well-informed) Tyler McVicker via Twitter. Such collaboration with fans is not unusual for Valve Software, because with black mesa A remake of Half-Life has already appeared, with the blessing of Valve.
No further details are known about the Half-Life 2: Remastered Collection, which will include revised editions of Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1 and Half-Life 2: Episode 2. Amendment “half-life 2 update“(2015) provided a complete overhaul of the game’s lighting system, new fog and particle effects, and several bug fixes.
I’ve been able to confirm the legitimacy of this project being built by the former Half-Life 2: Update team.
