Homematic IP with HomeKit later this year?
If fans of smart home systems want one thing from a Homematic IP, it’s a connection to Apple HomeKit. So far no progress has actually been made to report here, but from the response to a support request from EQ-3 it can be inferred that something is happening here.
There are currently talks with Apple about integrating HomeKit into Homematic IP. Unlike other partners such as Amazon and integration of voice control via Amazon Alexa, technical integration from Apple is not possible through cloud-to-cloud coupling. Therefore, technical feasibility is now being investigated through a gateway for integration into Homematic IP smart home systems. We will then announce the time of possible integration of HomeKit into Homematic IP through our channels.
