With 3:2 the Canadian team finished second in the Pacific Division. The Oilers scored their sixth straight win, three points more than their direct rivals.

Only the top three teams in a division are guaranteed a place in the NHL playoffs. The main round of the National Hockey League ends in three weeks.

Draisaitl: “It was extremely important”

While Dresitl, who had to sit out of a game with a minor lower-body injury, was without a point, his strike partner Conor McDavid extended his impressive range with a goal and an assist. The 25-year-old Canadian has scored 15 straight games, conceding a total of 13 goals and 16 assists. McDavid best scorer in the league with 108 points, Driesett (101) ranked third

“Maybe it wasn’t the best game, but in the end it was two very important points for us,” said Dreistel of the German press agency. “We still have some tough games ahead of us that we need to win, but two points were huge.”

Goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer was also successful, defending 29 shots in Lukas Reichl’s 2–0 victory of the Seattle Kraken against the Chicago Blackhawks. Shooting star Tim Stutzl was absent from the Ottawa Senators’ 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators with a lower body injury.
