Arc Raiders. Battlefield inventor's shooter revealed

From Sarah Petzold ,
Battlefield inventor Patrick Söderlund, along with his team from Embark Studios, has announced a new free-2-play shooter. Ark Raiders takes place in a post-apocalyptic world and is designed to offer uncompromising co-op action.

While EA and DICE are currently filling their hands to cheer up the Battlefield community in the wake of Battlefield 2042’s release date, Game Awards 2021 is a promising option for battered fans of the shooter series around the corner. Because Battlefield inventor Patrick Soderlund along with the team at Embark Studios has announced a new free-2-play shooter with a sci-fi setting — and the revealed trailer for the game called Ark Raiders was pretty good Crash.

Third-person, multiplayer-only

What becomes clear at first glance with Ark Raiders: Shooter fans can expect a whole lot of uncompromising multiplayer action. We slip into the role of a so-called Raider, a type of resistance fighter who happens to defend Earth from the Ark in a futuristic scenario. The Arc are robot-like machines that have invaded our planet. The special thing about Ark Raiders is that we sometimes face big opponents from a third person perspective.

Beyond that, the shooter does away with the single player campaign entirely and should instead offer a decent co-op experience. The focus is on strategy and team play. Depending on the type of enemy, we have to skillfully combine our skills and weapons to stand a chance against the seemingly formidable arc. The trailer shows what it looks like in practice:

Nothing is known about a possible monetization mechanism yet. However, Patrick Söderlund, CEO of Embark Studios, has promised that we will get to know more about the title soon.
