Lena Meyer-Landrut Cries On TV: “I Didn’t Have A Father Who Loved Me”

As a guest judge on “The Voice,” the singer was filled with emotion. Lena Meyer-Landrut made a very personal confession.

“The Voice of Germany” stands for strong voice and soulful performance. It is not uncommon for experienced coaches to shed a tear or two. So did Lena Meyer-Landrut in Friday’s episode. The singer supported her colleague Stephanie Close during rehearsals with her talent – and was overwhelmed by her emotions.

Reason: Candidate Donny Virandana. The 33-year-old sang the Nat King Cole hit “When I Fall in Love.” But not only did the emotional interpretation touch Lena, but above all the intention behind the song selection. “I wanted to sing this song for my daughter so she could see how much her father loved her,” Donny explained before his performance — and struck with Lena in a tragic situation.

“Caught Off Guard”

After just a few notes, the singer had tears in her eyes, as the statement touched her personally. “Any daughter who has a father like you is lucky. I didn’t have a father who would love me,” she admitted.
