This is how the queen celebrates her birth anniversary with pomp

In addition, lights will be lit in UK and Commonwealth cities on Thursday. This tradition has been performed on royal anniversaries since the 19th century. This year there are more than 1,500 lights to be lit for the 96-year-old.

Friday: Thanksgiving Service

A Thanksgiving service will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday for the services of the Queen. The Great Paul, Britain’s largest church bell, will ring during the service. After being stagnant for decades, it was restored in 2021. This is the first royal occasion for which it is sung.

Saturday: Derby at Epsom Downs and “Platinum Party”

Queen Elizabeth should have attended the Derby at Epsom Downs on Saturday. However, as insiders told The Sun, the 96-year-old is unlikely to make an appearance at horse racing this year. Also on Saturday is the “Platinum Party” at Buckingham Palace. The BBC is hosting a concert in honor of the Queen and is inviting stars from around the world. The bands Queen and Adam Lambert, Diana Ross and Duran Duran are some of the prominent names in the line-up. 22,000 spectators are expected to attend the event.

Sunday: Anniversary Lunch and Pageant

Last but not least, the jubilee contest for the head of the royal family will take place on Sunday. More than 10,000 people, including the army, are involved in the move.
