Cristiano Ronaldo is back for Manchester United for three matches – and has already scored his fourth goal in a Premier League game against West Ham United. This places the club at the top of the table. There Chelsea FC will not let Liverpool FC go. Also because Antonio meets Rudiger.

English Champions League winners FC Chelsea registered their next victory in the Premier League on the fifth day of a match with German coach Thomas Tuchel. The Londoners won 3–0 (0–0) over local rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Defender Thiago Silva, 36 (in the 49th minute), N’Golo Kante with a deflected shot from about 20 meters (57th minute) and German national defender Antonio Rudiger scored for Chelsea in stoppage time.

The Blues, in which national player Kai Havertz played from the start, had to do without their ailing goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. For Senegal, Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga stood between the positions, who with a transfer fee of €80 million is still the most expensive goalkeeper in football history but sits mostly on the bench at Chelsea. Timo Werner, who has played the Joker since Lukaku’s arrival, came into the game for Havertz and missed an early decision after 78 minutes.

Chelsea are still unbeaten this season and have won six of their seven competitive games, including the European Supercup. Due to the success of the Spurs, the Blues tied with league leaders Liverpool FC on points and goals. Coach Jurgen Klopp’s team had already won 3-0 (1-0) against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Man United also benefited from the mess

Manchester United is in third place – thanks to superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese also scored in the third competitive game after their return for champions English football. In a 2–1 (1–1) victory in the away game at West Ham United, Ronaldo equalized in the 35th minute after Hammer took the lead in an entertaining game through Said Benrahma (30th).

The late winning goal for Man United was scored by Jesse Lingard (89th), who played on loan for West Ham last season. In dramatic pause times, the hosts were handed punishments after video evidence. But notably substituted Mark Noble failed with his shot at United keeper David de Gea.

The leading trio’s first chase is one point behind Brighton & Hove Albion (2-1 against Leicester City). Defending champions Manchester City fell further behind the top teams with number zero against Southampton FC and Everton FC, who were tied on first points, falling 3–0 to Aston Villa for the first time of the season.
