System Requirements: Want next-generation graphics performance in Dead Space remake

Systemanforderungen: Next-Gen-Grafik im Dead Space Remake will Leistung

Dead Space Remake promises contemporary graphics and horror enhanced by atmospheric lighting and other beautiful graphic effects. The nightmare comes at a cost: The system requirements are absolutely nothing.

Even the minimum requirements are not without. EA names a six-core processor or second-generation Ryzen from Intel with 16 gigabytes of RAM with twelve threads and a GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 5700, both (last) mid-range GPUs from the previous generation. This puts the game above other systems that start with a much weaker CPU and GPU.

A more modern processor in the form of the Intel Core i5-11600K or the current-generation Ryzen 5 5600X is also recommended. The specifications for GPUs rarely change. A GeForce RTX 2070 is the successor to the GTX 1070 and is about 30 percent faster, but not worlds faster. This roughly corresponds to the current RTX 3060 (tested). The alternatively named Radeon RX 6700 XT (tested) is also positioned in a comparable manner.

The benchmark should show to what extent or at what resolution and detail settings the information is actually realistic. The new Dead Space will be released on January 27, 2023, for about 60 euros on Steam. On console, Xbox Series S | X and PlayStation 5, the title costs 20 euros more. Old consoles are not taken into account, which once again underscores the seriousness of system requirements: graphics should be “next generation”. EA also sells a Deluxe Edition on all platforms, which costs ten euros extra. It includes three suits for the protagonist Issac, as well as two suit textures.
