frankfurt Commerzbank Reorganizes its management team in the midst of its restructuring. Germany’s second-largest private bank announced Wednesday that human resources director Sabine Schmidroth will leave the institution at the end of the year when her contract expires.

“Since the autumn of last year, I want to start a new phase in my life after 38 years at Commerzbank,” explained Schmidroth. “The moment is right for this. Because by the end of the year we will have initiated most of the human resource transformation.” The institute wants to cut a total of 10,000 jobs by 2024.

However, indiscretion and doubts within the company as to whether the supervisory board intended to extend his contract may have also played a part in Schmidroth’s departure.
